Lisa began her career as a make-up artist in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. During these early years her technical skills, interpersonal skills, and the art of understanding what women want were learned from her experience while working in a salon, Jamison Shaw Hairdressers. These skills were also learned from her mentor, Ron Guarino, nationally known make-up artist. During this time in Atlanta, Lisa also received her aesthetician’s license from the State Board of Cosmetology. Lisa moved back to Memphis in 1993 and began her free-lance career.

For thirteen years, Lisa has worked as a free-lance make-up artist on many commercial and corporate jobs including both local and national projects. Responsibilities would include applying make-up for the camera (photography, video, and film) while insuring that the actor, model, or everyday person was relaxed and calm. Lisa’s list of past clients includes FedEx, International Paper, Service Master, St. Jude, Bon Apetite Magazine and Prevention Magazine as well as celebrities such as John Stemos, Bill Clinton, and Melissa Etheridge.

Also in the past seventeen years, Lisa has perfected her make-up application for brides. When Lisa has applied the make-up for a bride, the delicate balance between make-up for the camera and make-up for up-close conversations is achieved. Lisa’s calm demeanor, self-assuredness, and confidence as a professional make-up artist will ensure that the bride will have no worries about her make-up for the entire day.

Lisa’s on-the-job training in the salon, technical skills learned from Ron Guarino, various training classes through Aveda, and art classes at the University of Memphis bring together a synthesis of experience that is rare in this industry.
