Makeup.School Review: Dippalli Naik, Birmingham United Kingdom
Once again the UK is showing love for Makeup.School! We adore hearing from students around the world, and watching them learn and grow into their potential. One of our favorite aspects about our online school, is the benefit of being able to reach so many amazing people and cultures. The skills we share cross borders and cultures, allowing true, full expression of the individual to take place. Check out what Dippalli has to say about her experience, we bet you can relate, regardless of where you live!
Name: Dippalli Naik
Are you a graduate or current student of Makeup.School?
What inspired you to become a makeup artist?
My bridal makeup artist was so amazing that I started experimenting with makeup, and then started watching you tube vloggers for more inspiration. Over time, my interest increased, as did my skills, and I realized I could do more with my knowledge. I am now working towards becoming a freelance makeup artist, alongside my day job, with the aim of leaving my day job in the coming years.
What made you choose Makeup.School over other online makeup artistry programs?
The price and flexibility of payment, the detail of the course, and the community.
What do you think of the program?
Very good — covers everything to start a career in the industry, and keeps it interesting.
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
Learning from the other students in the facebook group!
Did you purchase one of our Makeup Kits?
No, I haven’t, as I already have sooo much makeup!!
How prepared do you feel you will be to begin your career as a professional makeup artist once you complete the Makeup.School program?
I think I will need to build my portfolio and confidence more before turning it into a career, but Makeup.School will definitely give me a solid foundation.
What has been your favorite makeup job so far?
Making over models in a publicity shoot.
What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
I am hoping, with further practice and studying, I will be able to build a new income stream as a MUA within the next 2-3 years, and move into full time by 5 years. I am also working on a blog site so that I can blog about beauty and makeup. (Note from us: need help on starting a Beauty Blog? We have an article for you!)
Besides makeup, tell us what interests you!
Singing, dancing, cinema, food and wine and Christmas!
What makeup product is your absolute MUST HAVE?
What one piece of advice would you give to someone who was just starting Makeup.School?
